Early morning, overcast skies overlooking the ocean. The ocean has moved the beach considerably back over the past 50 years and the parking lot has been cut in half.
I positioned the camera down low to accentuate the rocks in the foreground. The rocks were very large and I tried to show the scale of proportion in relationship to the boat, etc. The rocks were new on the beach as they must have been pushed there by a winter storm.
This photograph, I felt, had a lot going for it: water, great looking sky, a boat and an interesting building on a dock. I kept them in the 1/3 area with 2/3 sky above.
What a nice surprise as the sun’s reflection came across the ocean for just a brief moment. You know what you get if you’re not there early enough. Nothing!
The start of cold weather and high winds has begun the process of freezing the harbor that looked so inviting during the summer months. Quite a change!
