The kayak rack is a lottery system for all kayaks stored near the launch. Each year it becomes harder and harder to obtain a place on the racks due to the em Mende popularity of kayaking.

Kayaks at Nauset Marsh waiting to go out for a paddle this summer. The kayaks allowed to stay here are based on a lottery system. It is a beautiful paddling area, but you have to be careful of the 8’ tide swings between high and low tide.

The protected Wellfleet, MA harbor is a great place to launch and land with your ocean kayak. You can paddle out to Great Island while still being in the harbor. Get there early as the parking fills up during the summer months. Happy Paddling!
