I thought that this simplistic scene could be an interesting B&W photograph as there were only a few different elements in the photograph to look at: entrance to the harbor, grasses, water, shore and a rock sticking out in the water.

I thought this would be a nice B&W photograph with the dock and the wall of the wharf leading across the whole photograph. It gives your eye a reason to view the photograph in its entirety.

While walking down the beach, I came upon a lobster pot that had washed up on to the beach next to an area closed sign for endangered species (Piping Plovers). The lobster pot came up on the beach at a very high tide water mark during last winter. The lobster pot would be too...

Nothing better than having the whole beach to yourself during the fall and winter months. Just dress warmly and grab your camera and there will be many photo opportunities for you. This particular photograph had to be in B&W due to time of the year.

Take a black & white macro photograph and you never know what the new outcome might be by adding B&W to macro. You might be pleasantly surprised with your photograph. Macro photography doesn’t necessarily always have to be in color.
