The Great Blue Heron was fishing next to the shore with the boats all around the bird. It was low tide and a perfect time to catch some fish as the bird remained perfectly still not to scare any fish away. The Great Blue Heron is a great fish catcher.

With a 9 foot tide swung, the harbor is impassable at low tide. The boats have to negotiate going out to sea at the correct time in order to be able to return.

There’s nothing better to have a trail to yourself early in the morning and overlooking RMNP. This is the back way hike up to Boulder Field which very few hikers do each day.
